Shurely shome mishtake

Stamp on the camps“, brays today’s Sun in righteous fury against the Pikey Menace.

I know it’s splitting hairs, but doesn’t the Sun’s view of Gypsies rather call for them to be in camps?

Sorry to calm your fevered brow, but no, the Sun story simply insists that gypsies should be subject to exactly the same laws that the rest of us are. What’s wrong with that?

If only they would berate wife-beaters or abusive fathers in such strident terms.

Sorry David, this is shooting fish in a barrel to please the herd. And potential incitement to all manner of things.

I am asking people to send The Sun their ‘gipsy stories’, highlighting the effects of hatred on the lives of gypsies - from the Holocaust to present day Eastern Europe. Not forgetting Britain, of course, where the CRE describes travellers as Britain’s most discriminated against group and where anti-traveller hate is still legitimate in popular expression.
