Fool me three times
The year – 1999. The person – Me: “Wow, the trailer for the Phantom Menace is fantastic. I got to see this film.”
…
“Midichlorians? Jesus, what a load of old toss that was. Christ, never again.”
The year – 2002. The person – Me: “Blimey, the trailer for the Attack of the Clones is fantastic. I got to see this film.”
…
“Aw, not again. That’s it George. I want a divorce.”
The year – 2005. The person – Me: “Holy crap! The trailer for the Revenge Of The Sith is bloody amazing. I cannot wait to see this film.”
Thank God it’s the last one.

I found watching The Phantom Menance so painful that I haven’t watched a Star Wars film (new or old) since. They are dead to me now.
It does look good from the trailer, but I did notice that they seemed to be cleverly editing it to avoid showing too much of Hayden Christiansen trying to act.
Unless the reviews are good, I can wait till the DVD comes out. It’s not as if we don’t know the ending already.
But I’m so weak. The reviews could say “this film is so bad it will leave you bleeding from the eyeballs” and I’ll still go.
Me too. But you’d never catch me lining up for weeks on end for it.
That reminds me: we need a ‘place-minder’ service that allows Star Wars geeks to leave the queue so they can go and (protest) vote on May 5.
