Dogs can’t look up. Don’t ask me why.
This from tonight’s Snowmail on Sir John Stevens’ considered opinion made in that organ of weighty matters, The News of the World:
As to who did it, no new leads despite the claims from the former top cop Sir John, now Lord Stevens. Stevens only stepped down from the job a few months ago. He still attracts huge regard, hence when he writes in the News of the World that the bombers are from within Britain, if not British, many hang on his words. But Lord Stevens will neither substantiate his claim, nor discuss it, he appears to be accountable to no-one.
Like other broadcasters, we have been requesting interviews with Lord Stevens but he will not put up, preferring, having penned his explosive piece, to shut up.
Explosive and, no doubt, lucrative. Aspersions cast and cheque cashed, why stick your neck out?
