BBC News: ‘Bad news buried’ claim Lib Dems

A report criticising the way police handle calls from the public had been scheduled for publication on Thursday.

But it was released by the Home Office a few hours after the work and pensions secretary stepped down on Wednesday.

    Blunkett’s gone (again)? Ha! Bloody brilliant! Now if someone can engineer the removal of the Safety Elephant and Blair (x2) before I get back next week, I shall be a happy man indeed.

    Shows how out of touch I’ve been out here in Japan and stuff though, eh? (Just spent three days in the mountains around Nikko lounging around in hot springs, visiting World Heritage Sites, admiring the autumnal colours and watching monkey shows - top stuff…)
