I love the BBC

The whole of series two of The Thick of It is available on the BBC website, free, gratis and for nothing.

Only until Nov 10, kiddies - so hurry. Apparently the DVD won’t be out until after they’ve aired both series on BBC TWO next spring.

Not free at all: you paid you license fee didn’t you?

And just think: british taxpayers are subsidising azerbaijanian enjoyment of quality light entertainment. Aren’t you indignant?

And did you know: from next year Germany will charge an additional license fee for people with an internet connection?

On a related note, I think I may be Terry…

Very much the opposite. Hopefully swathes of the world will see it and thing it a genuine fly on the wall documentary. Like a political Galaxy Quest. Wouldn’t that be ace?

As for having paid for it already. Oh, yeah. Still. Telly. On the internet. It’s proper living in the future, innit?

It’s not proper living in the future until cars are a) electric and b) flying, I have a moving walkway in my living room, you can teleport yourself around the world, food is generated in a microwave from pills, and judy jetson is my best friend. Only then will I admit to living in the future.

Jetpacks. You forgot jetpacks. And holidays on Saturn.

And they’d only really be ‘free’ if they were in some format that, say, I could actually watch on something other than my computer, and which isn’t tied in to the whims of a commercial concern based in the USA - anything other than sodding RealPlayer, basically.

Ah Joe, that’s defeatist talk. All you need is HiDownload to download the Realplayer file to your hard drive, Real7ime to convert the Realplayer file to an AVI and then Nero to recode the file to DVD format and burn the disc.

I mean, how hard can it be? Should only take you six weeks or so.

Alternatively, you could try and sign up here and download the series in a sensible format.
