Kitty Killer: Matthew Boulton: Assed and Daniel lose their appeal, suffer permanent expulsion

Further to this

The Panel is satisfied that the penalty imposed reflects the offence caused by your actions and is designed to protect both staff and students. Members are aware that the decision to dismiss your appeal is not the one you will have wanted but you are urged to accept the outcome and seek advice on how you can continue your studies elsewhere.

How appalling, mature students are often less supine than the more inexperienced and that’s why they are so important in student life. Censorship of a student flyer is against all the principles of the academy. This all stems from the granting of independent status to FE in the early 1990s. They can write their own script now. This is what Neo-Labour want for schools as well. Remove them from democratic control.

I too am disgusted - how the hell can Muslims be smugly told to ‘chill out and enjoy free speech’ when our own academic institutions don’t even tolerate free speech.

There are so many things wrong with this that I need to cool my head to sort them all out. Right now I’m a red ball of fluffy rage!

    1. Where next with this?

    2. I’ve probably asked this before but what kind of media coverage has this scandal received?

ejh: 1. This is as much as I know. Kitty Killer keeps me informed of developments.

    2. I’ve got Google News Alerts looking for stories about this but I’ve seen nothing new since Jan 13.

Hey guys, sorry I haven’t updated. Waiting to hear something definite from Assed. Bit annoyed this hasn’t made a national… There’s only so much I can do on my own :-(

I’ve been emailing the guardian every day this week with this story. Not even had a reply!

On Any Questions and Any Answers on R4 on Saturday I heard so many people asserting that “Muslims have got to learn to get used to the idea of free-speech in western democracies.” As I said before what smug fuckers they are!

And how many other cases are there like this that go unnoticed? Keep the radar open people, blogs will out!
