International Herald Tribune: Ban on abortions is voted in South Dakota

After more than an hour of fierce and emotional debate, the senators Wednesday rejected exceptions for incest or rape or for the health of a mother and voted, 23-12, to outlaw all abortions, except those to save a mother’s life.

    I once got asked why I was reading a book - by some away fans before a Hayes v Boston United match (the one in which the latter were promoted from the Conference) a few seasons back. I don’t think I was aware of the Hicks routine at the time and besides, the answer “so I don’t turn out a Boston United fan” might not have been entirely appropriate in the circumstances.
