If you had to send your kids to the school I work in you would use all your considerable skills/powers and influence to change the situation. Far easier just to buy your way out of it. I'll report back if she replies. A few weeks ago I wrote to her asking her to sign the Early Day Motion about sanitary products for Zimbabwean women. She replied <i>the very next day</i>. I cannot sign this petition, not because I do not believe in the ideal of the NHS, but because at present it is not safe enough for me to promise to consign my family to it. I wish it were. Perhaps we need another list of names of people who would like to committ but dare not. I await with fascination the list of labour MPs who will not sign. But will they be honest enough to say why? It is hilarious to look at those who just do not reply. The silence is deafening. This has to be one of the most telling political petitions ever. John And that is the whole issue, isn’t it.
