The off-licence is closed

A spot of idle blog-hopping this afternoon took me to Merrick’s drum, where I found a quote from the ace Julian Cope which I’m taken with:

Sure, your robot self can get you through the day, but be careful - or the person in you who does the dishes or drives on automatic pilot may easily become the same one who brings up the children. And then where would we be? Touched by absolutely nothing at all. So when you watch the News at 10 and the dead bodies are just a drag… be afraid, be very afraid.

Anyway. As you were.

Holy crap. Way to go with the Sunday morning ice water. Hoo ha.

My robot self now needs a drink. And some valve oil.

The problem I have is that the dead bodies have been a drag for years. I’m sure I’m not the only one. You become immune the more you see and everyone puts them and starving children on to pluck at the heart strings.

The more of a robot you become does not make you become immune to the bodies. It’s the repeated gore that does that.

The more you become a robot the more you blow when you hit your limit. Some never hit it others have a really low threshhold. The robots just hide it to fit in until it becomes too much as it is against our nature. We all do it with this PC crap. We all keep quiet when things are clearly ridiculous. Once enough blow we will come up with something else. Fingers crossed when we blow we take out enough politicians and less innocents.
