It could be you
Who said participatory democracy was boring or unrewarding? I’ve finally taken part in enough YouGov online surveys to hit the jackpot.
Every time I lend my voice to them I receive a small stipend. Now that those gratuities have accreted to fifty pounds, YouGov will cut me a cheque.

The survey that put me over the line was a nice little one about how I feel about David Cameron (that is, I doubt the ability of an old Etonian to Feel My Pain).
Sign up to speak your brains and you too could soon be nouveau riche. It’ll only take three and a half years.

Well done you. How many of those BrandIndex things did you have to wade through?
I got 50 quid from them ages ago. Now that I’ve moved to Ireland though, they don’t want to know me any more.
Goddamn xenophobes!
Rochenko, bloody hundreds, mate. I would have ignored them but the lure of the 50p was a strong one.
Jim, how long did it take to raise your 50 quid? I was sure they’d stop sending surveys once I’d got to £49.85.
how much do you get per referral then?
Varies really. 50p or 75p usually. Occassionally you get the Holy Grail – a whole pound.
How long did it take to raise your 50 quid?
I was a member from the very beginning, back in the bad old days when connecting to the internet involved listening to your computer screeching for 40 seconds. I guess it probably took me two years or so to pick up my first fifty. I was back up to thirty-something when I moved back to Ireland.
To be honest I could probably have gotten even more but I refused to answer any of the BrandIndex things – and I suspect in the long-run, users who refuse those end up getting sent less of the political polls (certainly I was getting far less of them by the time I packed it in).
