Telegraph: Why is Tony Blair sending this gang-rape victim back to her attackers?
The Home Office is at the centre of a fresh row over its handling of asylum applications after it emerged that hundreds of people who have fled the slaughter in the Darfur region of Sudan have been told by officials that it is safe to return to their homes.
Among those who have been refused permission to remain in the UK is a woman doctor who was gang-raped by Sudanese soldiers for protesting to aid workers about the rape of more than 40 schoolgirls.

Because he’s a total prat and is of the mentality of this sort of person. They’re a club.
No, because that is her problem not ours and we don’t have the space, the money, the housing, the education and the welfare services to look after every hard case a hard world throws up!
Yes, I read this today and thought, hmm, why is the Sunday Telegraph printing this? Answer, to bash Blair, and then I thought, why does this poor woman want to come here? Presumably because until 50 years ago when granted ‘independence’ Sudan was part of the British Empire. Poor old Mother Britain has an awful lot of dependent grown-up children scattered round the world, and I doubt that she can continue to gather them all under her wings for ever without the locals getting a bit cheesed off.
Man, feel the lurve coming from these comments. Sorry, can’t stop you being gang-raped, Christmas sales are down this year…
As for former colonies/dependent children, I don’t know what that has to do with anything. If you’re suggesting one follows from the other, then surely we carry responsibility for leaving the country unable to fend for itself?
Otherwise, you’ve added nothing to the earlier argument of “we’re full, try to re-incarnate somewhere nicer”.
“bash Blair”, jeez. Don’t you think there’s a small chance the fact that we’re returning nine out of ten people back to a warzone generated a little moral outrage among the cynical bastards at the Tel?
Well spotted, though incidents like this are all too common unfortunately.
