This real time map (via) of disasters happening around the world is terrifying. It reminds me of the map from the Judge Dredd comic showing how the world has gone to shit in the 22nd century.
Watching a biological hazard unfold in New South Wales (the unexplained deaths of thousands of birds), the series of ‘nuclear events’ taking place across America and the sheer number of volcanoes currently erupting around the globe, I have fears for us making it to teatime today let alone 2115.

Damn! Someone got the 24 hour clock gag in before me. I have faith in our ability to finally come up with a solution at the 11th hour, and then have to clear up the shitstorm when that brings a disaster in its wake. I love the nay-sayers on global warming: there’s no scientific evidence, they proclaim – the mantra of the tobacco industry for so many years. What’s the worst that can happen if we actually adopt wind turbines and solar panels? A less expensive energy source. Ooh, scary! Yet these Clarkson-like arseholes rail on and on about eyesores: like anyone brought out a holiday postcard of Sizewell B: Weather is here, wish this was beautiful. Anyway, enough of my ranting, it’s already just gone 8pm.
There’s a red flashing circle around Glasgow at the moment. No change there then.
