A double edged olive branch

Iain Dale says, ‘let the Blog Wars cease‘ and then lets his supporters give Tim Ireland another beating in the comments.

Smooth.

Too many johnny-come-latelies, who know little or nothing about the roots of British blogging.

Or much about the background or details to all this. And don’t care.

Nice to see him deploy the old Village Idiot defence too:

I never said that… I’d completely forgotten that I said that… I couldn’t possibly have said that – I don’t even know what it means

The most telling thing is the fact that (as far as I have seen) neither Guido Fawkes nor Iain Dale have posted a link to a single one of Tim Ireland’s posts. What could they possibly be worried about?

But he’s mentally deranged and a fascist doctorvee, why should they?!

And he wants to take Guido up the wrong ‘un. Or so they say.

Boys, this one’s a little over my head. I’ve posted on Guido already so my view’s known. Just … er … how long is this thing going on for? Just asking for information like.

I challenged him on this and suggested that he kicks off the offer of peace by deleting all those awful personal remarks from anonymous commenters. He posted a line today saying some guff about how anonymous commenting will be dealt with more firmly, but guess what? He deleted all my challenges as well. Pathetic.

It makes me want to knock it all on the head – I see that Tom Harris MP has done just that yesterday.

    It’s called passive-aggressive. Or being nice-but-dim.

    What’s an “astro-turfer”?

    Astroturfing.
