Politics isn't half as much fun if you're in opposition. Osborne and Cameron's job is to get elected. Then, with their feet under the Downing Street desks, they can decide if they actually want to do anything different from New Labour. I don't think they'll bother - apart from the direction the scraps of red meat are thrown to placate the party base, of course.
