Why in hell would I want to read Martin Amis at all, much less while eating?

    It tends to spray everywhere.

I have that in my read pile. Now thinking I’ll read the Jon Ronson column and bin it.

    Hi,
    Sorry, somewhat out of context.
I need help to point a 70 year old (influential) American to the fact that the UK now has the longest “hold without charge” period (28d) in any “Democracy”. I can say what I like, he needs proof, keeps talking about “judicial review”.
Can anyone help with a good (simple English) link?
    Thanx
