Omerta

Shocking scenes in Westminster when an Iraqi man was assaulted by two attackers. One beat the man, took his money and left him bleeding in the gutter. The other attacker – bizarrely – merely tickled the man’s feet.

A witness to the assault, blogger Oliver Kamm, later gave a statement to the police. While Mr Kamm was unable to say anything about the person who beat and robbed the Iraqi, he was able to give detailed chapter and verse on the feet-tickler.

And thus the streets are kept safe.

Update: Shocking scenes in Westminster when an Iraqi man etc etc…

Witnesses to the assault, Harry’s Place, later gave a statement blah blah…

Mark Steel’s piece in The Independent (Why should Galloway be the only fall guy?) is excellent.

I think my favourite part of this whole farce (and there’s plenty to choose from) is the way that various parties – including, I think, the two to whom our host has linked – insist that the Telegraph allegations have not been shown in a court to be libellous. They do rather neglect the fact that this is only so because the newspaper accepted in court that they couldn’t defend them. Not that this stopped them running an editorial calling their target a “traitor”. Nice.

If only they could all lose, and perhaps be imprisoned together in a deep, dark dungeon far from the public’s knowledge or concern.

    Ah, we can dream…

    Kamm’s new(ish) template is foul.

I guess you should judge a blog by its cover.
