Hitchens: crowing from the wreckage
This and this (where I get called ‘You fanny’ in the comments - with Hitchens I’m in good company; at least I won’t be thirsty).

Anyone who pursues Galloway as remorselessly as Hitchens is OK in my book, even if he is a drunk. (Actually that rather clinches it for me.)
I’d apologise for your having been called a ‘fanny’ in my comments if it weren’t a rather splendid insult, from which I’m sure you’ll recover…
As I’ve said before, I’d have more time for the like of Hitchens if he wasn’t obsessing about the cockroach in the kitchen while the house burns down.
I agree, it was a rather splendid insult which is why I threw it straight back.
You need to check the international credentials of the insult:
Fanny, is slang which may refer to the:
buttocks (in the US)
vulva (in the UK, Australia and other places)

They’re more likely to be an obsessive, and by God there’s plenty about the internet: if there was that much to pursue him for I rather think he would have been nailed by now. There are, how ever, too many lunatics who won’t take “we can’t find anything to pin on him” as an answer.
The idea of Galloway as some sort of protected figure would normally be about as risible and lacking in perspective as you could find, but by the standards of:
(a) the war
and
(b) the internet
apparently it’s not.
