A rotten tragedy. Never a bigger rock star than his bands, never made a squillion quid off the back of anybody, and always, always Manchester. So he missed the Smiths and the Hac was a bit rubbish but hey. Anyone who was actually losing money on every copy of ‘Blue Monday’ sold, yet continued to press them because it was art is an absolute hero.
