Sunny Hundal: Keyboards at the ready

Excellent piece by Sunny on Comment is Free about the Iraqi Employees campaign, the spot of bother with Mr Usmanov, and what it all means for blogging and activism.

If you’d like to get involved with the Iraqi Employees campaign, here’s a few things you can do:

  1. Watch the video.
  2. Write to your MP. Ask them to refer your concerns to the Home Office, Foreign Office and Ministry of Defence. Invite your MP to the meeting at Parliament on October 9.
  3. Let us know in the comments if you get a response.
  4. Join the list of supporters.
  5. Spread the word. If you have a blog, why not help yourself to one of Unity’s lovely blog banners?
  6. Keep up with latest on the Iraqi employees’ plight with Google News Alerts.
  7. Sign the petition.

If nothing else the Usmanov affair was perfectly timed to jump-start the UK blogosphere from what seemed like a long summer of ennui and blog-depression. We could do with an Usmanov once every three months ;)

Having seen Sunny Hundal Channel 4 news I somehow doubt that his piece is ‘excellent’.

The fact that the piece appears on comment is free, is another reason to doubt it’s excellence; unless you are a fan of group-think, bullying and general tosh.

To be frank, this issue is too serious to be left to people like Hundal, who by his appearance on TV done much to reinforce the myth that bloggers are naughty children, incapable of serious thought.

    Trannyfattyacid: “…bullying and general tosh.”

I’ve just looked at your blog and read your guff on the McCanns, Do the words Pot, Kettle and Black mean nothing to you? Jeez!

So you feel the need to give us two reasons for doubting the excellence of Sunny’s article, neither of which involves having read it and judging it on its merits.

There’ve been some thoughtful comments arriving at this place since the Usmanov thing, I’ll say that…

Which part of the McCanns story do you find general tosh?

Would it be the potential politcial corruption, the undermining of the DNA database, the class issues, the cult of celebrity, Xenophobia of the British media, the way the story has been cruched/promoted/spun, and what is says about the way people go missing each day without comment.

Notice you didn’t disagree with the group-think point on the the Gaudain forums…. lol

TFA: Erm, in a word, YES.

If you’d like me to be more specific I think I can do no better than point you to your ‘Two Suns’ photograph. I’ve examined the image and I’ve come to the conclusion that the shadows can be explained by the fact that there were two photographers present - the second one being concealed behind a fence on the grassy knoll.

I know it must be difficult but do try and take your medication regularly. Must dash, I’m having Elvis and Lord Lucan round for a game of Scrabble.

Sod off, Larry. Nobody ever made it big in blogging by having intelligent debate in their comments.

Imagine using the McCanns to bump up your e-peen.
