What a prat Rawnsley is, that he cannot see that these donation scandals are just a symptom of New Labour`s careless attitude to the British people in general, an attitude more perfectly demonstrated by their policies.
Anyway, Rawnsley is part of that generation of useless, feeble TV political commentators; like Nick Robinson and Andrew Marr, he indulges in a kind of matey affability with politicians, almost as if he regarded them as his peers. Was it the journalist James Cameron who said that he refused to become friendly with politicians because `it would spoil the purity of my hatred`?
So he thought he had a certain amount of cash in his pocket but it turned out he had a hundred grand more than he originally thought?
Fuck it, that never happens to me.
