Substantial increase on last time and an even bigger increase from the first time.  So while it&#039;s still low, it&#039;s bloody high for a non-General election and much better than it has in the past been.

Also proves the reformists point that contested elections increase turnout—people thought this one would be close, not a foregone conclusion, so actually bothered.  

Given that the odds of any individual vote actually mattering in a vote that big is infinetismal, that as many as they did turned out confounds a lot of polling theory. I&#039;m happy, and hope it&#039;ll go up again in 4 years.
