The Chicken Yoghurt Stop Fortnight

Bollocks to the lot of it. If the blogosphere was a pub you’d be looking for another one less stuffed with wankers.

Back in a bit.

Your Betty Ford assessment is at noon.

Please do not eat or drink for at least 2hrs before your appointment. And wear clean underpants.

I actually was in a pub full of utter cunts last night. Unfortunately for me, my uncle and his mates were out. They really don’t realise what mongs they are.

Whoops, just saw your response to my earlier comment. :)

Yes. Last warning. I really hope you’re not taking the piss - I’m not feeling very tolerant or forgiving right now. Almost nothing is banned on this site apart from ‘mong’, shortly followed by those who keep using it. You want to talk like a cunt, take it to Guido Fawkes.

I’ll abide by the rules if those are the rules. I wasn’t aware when I wrote my earlier post that such language is frowned upon.

And I won’t be going to Guido Fawkes any time soon!

Do you even know the origin of ‘mong’? I shouldn’t have to frown on it because I shouldn’t even see it.

I think we should view the blogosphere as a town and look around for the ‘pubs’ where the tossers don’t go. I’ve almost given up on reading UK political blogs and I’m slowly regaining my sanity in the process.

Take a break and cleanse your soul but please don’t be long. These arsholes are bad enough but we can’t let them squeeze out the little bit of good that’s about.

I don’t really agree, Mike Power. I go to blogs like Iain Dale’s Diary where the comment thread is generally a cesspool full of people agreeing with what Dale wrote, or sometimes criticising it because even he isn’t right-wing enough for them. But on some occasions, it’s good to offer an alternative to what everyone is saying. I prefer that to a hallelujah chorus of everyone agreeing with me!

Go to sites like Lib Dem Voice, they have some good threads. But it’s hard to keep track of them all because the site’s layout isn’t the best.

Remember 2005? I think it was about the last year there was any sense of community among British bloggers, before the wankers set in. Even Tim Worstall was reasonably human back then, before he turned into a spammer.

Early 2006 I think—I gave up trying to run a separate “political” blog about then and now just contribute elsewhere, but yeah, Dale et al brought in the idiots who previousl hung around in forums, and it sometimes makes the whole thing seem a bit like too much effort.

And Worstall was always a spammer, just not as blatent as he is now—still, if it’s paying his bills, g’luck to him, it’s not like he’s been secretive about the whole thing.

The latter, possibly not the former.

I’ve thought about doing similar, Justin. I suppose my blog, in it’s swear-filled entirety, is part of the problem. I do, however, rarely comment in other people’s threads - other than to nod in general agreement or to congratulate a well written piece (as I have done on your own boards from time to time).
