When I’m Prime Minister #1

My administration will hit the ground running…

Of course, in Brown’s case, this is precisely what a cartoon character does when it runs over the edge of a cliff…

I remember Ken Barlow coming out in support of Neil Hamilton in 1997 (vs Hutch from Starsky and Hutch, who supported Martin Bell). I don’t understand why Hamilton lost, since Ken Barlow is certainly not boring.

Well, as we’ve seen with Cherie Blair’s “poor upbringing” - if you (in this case Tony Booth) play a working-class person on the telly, you must be a bona fide, hard done by, horny handed son or daughter of toil. Mustn’t you?

Similar thing worked for Ronald Reagan, being a war hero and everything.
