Links and stuff between June 3rd and June 4th
Just what tickled my fancy between June 3rd and June 4th:
- Your groove for today is… – The New Pollution
- Mark Steel: You want children to learn? Here's how to do it – 'That's quite an achievement, to be given a job of enthusing kids about a subject and then to make them hate it so much that even 30 years later they can't bear to think about it.'
- Thousands 'are forced to choose between food and home care' – Do you ever get the feeling that our 'system' isn't working?
- How the BNP shamefully tried to create a 'white martyr' – A must.
- Blood & Treasure: name a no-go area – As the man says, 'It?s money-mouth time'…
- Warren Ellis » Bending Mars – 'Is putting humans on Mars important? Yes.'
- Minister in 'British day blunder' – Clearly Liam Byrne's diary was just out of reach when he wrote his speech. Bless.

Interesting that significant parts of that Daily Mail story appear to be lifted wholesale from this Guardian article from a few days previously: http://www.guardian.co.uk/politics/2008/may/28/labour.thefarright
The Mail plagiarising the Guardian? Surely some mistake… Maybe they imagine there’s not much overlap in the readership?
It always amazes me when the Mail rails against the BNP – as if their headlines haven’t acted as a recruiting sergeant for them and far right ideas generally.
One thing the article hasn’t mentioned is that the BNP propaganda at the time “overlooked” the fact Keith Brown was one of their activists. Funny that!
