Guardian: Why does Channel 4 seem to be waging a war against the greens, asks George Monbiot

The Great Global Warming Swindle is part of a long-standing pattern. Channel 4 upsets all sorts of people, and it has every right to do so. On all other issues it appears to do so in a random fashion, sometimes attacking people on one side of the debate, sometimes on the other. But one polemical position has kept recurring over the past 18 years: a fierce antagonism towards environmentalism. Some of these programmes have used misrepresentation, distortion or fabrication to sustain claims that environmental concerns are the fantasies of self-serving scientists. It is arguable that no organisation in the United Kingdom has done more to damage the effort to protect the environment.

Maybe because they are not taken in by old “scary” Monbiots crap.

Just another reason to tax. The planet warms up, the planet cools down.

Fair enoigh. If Monbiot is wrong, according to you, all that happens is we’ve paid more in tax (even though the emerging model of green taxes is that they are offset by reducing other taxes). If you’re wrong, lots of us are going to die.

Forgive me, but I know who I’ll be following for the time being.

Hang on, is that your pitchfork and burning torch I see in the distance…yes, the evangelistic enviros strike again.

I disagree with Monbiot, I’m a lunatic! Fantastic debating skills.

I agree with 99% of the stuff in this blog and read everyday but don’t subscribe to the green agenda.

The emerging model may look good in theory but will never happen. If this was the case, personal taxes would be going down as consumer taxes go up…can’t see it happening.
