A liberal mind-hammer

How’s this for messing with liberals’ heads…

The US military have embraced renewable energy, specifically, wind turbines…

To power Guantanamo Bay.

I know this is off topic. However, this news item on the BBC site may be worth a wider discussion.

At first site it might seem non-controversial – charging rich Premiership football clubs for policing outside the grounds as well as inside.

However, the sting in the tail is that this proposal forms part of a Government Green paper - and as we all know, the law works on precedent.

It’s not difficult to imagine a few years down the line town centre pubs, clubs, bars etc being charged extra to police city centres at night based on the same argument.

Or demonstrators/protestors or even striking pickets being charged for policing costs?
