Browser crashing?

The lovely Philip reports that Chicken Yoghurt is crashing his browser. Whenever he goes to the comments, his Mozilla Firefox 1.0.3 (running on Mac OS X 10.2.8) closes unexpectedly.

Anybody else having trouble?

No problem here, but I’m a couple of major revisions newer on both browser (FF 3.0.1) and OS (MAC OS X 10.4.11).

I think you’ll struggle to find many readers using the combination of FF 1.0.3 and Mac OS X 10.2.8

No problems here but I’m using FF 3.0.1 and Mac OS X 10.5.4

Rara avis, that’s me. Explorer seems to work all right, for the moment; but you may be interested to know that the Chicken Yoghurt comments box also crashes Safari 1.0.3.

XP and IE something or other is shit.

But I doubt that’s your fault.

I’m using a Vista machine with Firefox 3.0.1 and have noticed no problems with your comments area. My only problem is the general ’swinishness’ of Vista, which has been troublesome, in the extreme, since I got this particular machine in spring last year.

It works for me on FireFox… v 3.0 on Windows XP.

I suspect that with an OS and browser combo like that, your website crashing is the least of his worries; 4 or 5 years worth of unpatched security exploits is far more hazardous.

Philip, if you’re reading this: don’t do any online banking with that machine. Or shopping. Or anything which involves a password. I know that not everyone has the luxury of the latest hardware, but that’s a big risk you have there.

All’s cool with Tiger and Safari 3 & Firefox 3, I’m intrigued to know what mac he has, must be quite a nice vintage. Which is good, the environmental cost of new machines every year or so is terrible.

I’ve had a fair few problems with IE6: I nearly emailed you about it months ago. Indeed, I ended up with a Chicken Yoghurt Word file because I started copying and pasting all my coments before making them, just in case.

It used to crash the whole PC: I had to boot up all over again. It didn’t do it every time.

Your layout doesn’t work in Opera 9.50.
