Just me then?
I know this is going to sound frightfully priggish but am I the only one utterly unamused by the myriad Downfall parodies out there? Have the people who clap like seals whenever a new one is produced actually seen the film? I’m tempted to make one myself for the day Thatcher dies - we’ll see how funny some of these dicks think it is then.
Why hasn’t someone made a parody based on the scene in the film where Magda Goebbels murders her six children? (’There was evidence, in the form of bruises, that the eldest child, twelve-year-old Helga, had awakened and struggled before she was killed.’)
You know, just for a laugh.

And how about how goddamn unoriginal they are? Gah. Everyone’s a film maker with nothing to say.

C’mon, the Giles Coren one’s pretty funny. The others are a bit rubbish though, I’ll agree.

I’ve always thought the joke was in the subtitling, not the Hitler comparisons, as in the Gordon Brown version where the subtitles say ‘Even Derby County are laughing at us!’
But then I’ve only seen two versions of this; maybe by the umpteenth they stop being funny because you get the joke.
