Guido Fawkes: fashion expert

Guido Fawkes shows his usual level of self-awareness:

Guido has just spotted Derek Draper himself, wearing a Hawaiian shirt and sandals combination, checking into the Hyatt conference hotel. A well judged outfit calculated to make him blend in here in rainy Birmingham. Guido did not get a photo because he was laughing.

Hahaha! Guido is, after all, the expert on sartorial elegance. Going on Newsnight looking like you slept in your clothes is all the rage. Here’s the man himself at a public discussion – he’s the great white whale on the far right. Note the electronic tag accessory. It’s the must-have this season.

    Great white whale?

Towards thee I roll, thou all-destroying but unconquering whale; to the last I grapple with thee; from hell’s heart I stab at thee; for hate’s sake I spit my last breath at thee. Sink all coffins and all hearses to one common pool! and since neither can be mine, let me then tow to pieces, while still chasing thee, though tied to thee, thou damned whale! Thus, I give up the spear!

Well, of course I know that Melville was quoting Roddenberry…

    1. Paul Staines is a very attractive man from certain angles. Admittedly, fewer than in previous years, but…

    2. The gentlemen ‘bloggers’ from his neighbourhood seem to be seeing Derek Draper everywhere of late. Almost as if they’re (*gasp*) putting it on a bit. And yet they seemed so upset when a troll was incorrectly blamed on serial-troller ‘Dizzy’.

    3. Speaking of that gent, here at his site, the threats Nadine Dorries claimed to receive almost a *year* ago are blamed on the recently-famous Draper. ‘Dizzy’ publishes the comment (without comment) and no-one bats an eyelid:

    4. Young Tories applaud when Paul enters a room now. Apparently. We can’t discount some chummy PR from Hilton:

    5. In other conference news, nobody – not even the police or security (!) – could be bothered to help Mr Blaney with his luggage:

    If I may add…

After a childhood injury to his anus, Paul Staines is now incapable of farting in colour.

    100% fact:
