I think he goes too far. Palin’s point about gays (which would have been a sidestep in an adroit politician) was simply incoherent.
“I’m not going to judge someone on whether they believe [homosexuality is congenital or not]” can be true – maybe she won’t judge people on that; I’m sure she is a bigot and her church is bigoted, but that doesn’t make that statement a lie. It’s not an answer to a question that anyone cares about, but that doesn’t make it a lie.
Palin says a lot of things which suggest that her brain and her mouth are on different circuits. Yes, she lied about the Bridge to Nowhere, but the Troopergate thing is, or should be, still sub judice. He’s only got one instance of her bias against special needs kids; she could (possibly correctly) just not rate the Special Olympics. She could argue that that’s biased toward elite disabled sport rather than grassroots disabled sport or even basic special needs (access ramps, etc). Again, not proof of a lie.
She said she *put* the plane on eBay. That’s true. She *implied* but did not say she sold it (or the video does not show her saying that).
Olberman’s given too many cheap hostages to the wingnuts. As P O’Neill says Andrew Sullivan “has a cottage industry in keeping track of her.” At the moment, he’s doing the best job out there.
Very entertaining, but I believe that you could run this kind of analysis on all politicians. You would need a massive bail out to fund your charity of choice.
