George Bush looks on the bright side

Jamie passes on the tale of George Bush visiting injured troops at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center:

“Well, it looks like you lost a leg,” the president told one soldier. “But you’ve still got another one. Hopefully you’ll keep that one and things will get better.”

The clock counting down the time until this fool is gone grinds awfully slow…

Kind of reminds me of Douglas Bader. After being released from hospital, he goes to stay in some digs. The landlady notices him having difficulty ascending the stairs. “Something wrong with your legs?” she inquires. “No,” replies Bader. “Actually I don’t have any.”

“Never mind,” says the landlady. “You’ll soon find your feet.”

Oh, for that stiff upper lip - somewhere above the loose, flabby chin.
