It all depends on who you’re offending
Disgusted with myself as I am to keep banging on about Manuel-/Brand-/Ross-/Vicariously-offended-tosser-gate, here’s one more.
On the subject of comedians inspiring moral outrage and public disgust, why didn’t the tabloid press wipe the floor with latter-day Bernard Manning Jimmy Carr when he made this joke?
The male gypsy moth can smell the female gyspy moth up to seven miles away - and that fact also works if you remove the word ‘moth’.
It’s a rhetorical question, obviously.

I have this strange fantasy where due to some hilarious mix-up, they ended up ringing Andrew Vachss to tell him Russell had fucked his daughter. That would have panned out in a much more satisfying manner, I believe.
Don’t be too hard on Master Carr, it can’t be easy making a career looking like a possessed ventriloquist’s dummy.
It’s alright though, Carr was being all postmodern and ironic!
“feedline, punchline, next joke. Feedline, punchline, next joke. Joke after hollow, empty joke. Jokes that could have been written by a computer, with no moral compass.”
