If you want to see British politics at it’s finest, go and watch today’s Prime Minister’s Questions, forward to 14 minutes 40, and see how Nick Clegg’s question about a single mother and her tax credits goes down with other MPs. It’s a lovely sight and makes you proud.

    And did you notice which side of the house the sneering racket seemed to be coming, going by which direction the Speaker was facing (while doing his ineffectual bleating act) – yup, the government benches.

    Perhaps I’m out of the loop, but I don’t understand wtf was going on, other than the people who are supposed to be writing our laws and holding the government to account for us instead acting like complete fucking morons
