Derek Draper’s projection
New Labour propaganda tsar Derek Draper is getting jolly exercised over the issue of tax avoidance, saying some troop of right-wing wannabe demagogues called the Tax Payers’ Alliance (no, me neither) ‘gives green light to corporate tax avoiders‘.
It’s strange really, particularly when you consider that tax avoidance costs the nation billions thanks to loopholes that the government refuses to close. Who is the party of government right now giving the green light to corporate tax avoiders? Oh, that’s right. New Labour. The party Derek Draper’s propaganda offensive is busy losing votes for.
Really, Draper’s like the pub landlord shouting at the bloke who mops the pub floor for people getting drunk. Shouldn’t he be screaming down the phone to the people at the brewery?

Awesome projection at every level. Check out some of the recent text from the ‘livelist’ feature . A small Drudge-like oasis of zero-accountability with front-page prominence, is ‘livelist’; there’s no visible archive of what is published under this heading, what is said there cannot be challenged with a comment… and it’s primarily written by Draper, who probably wrote this himself:
“7.00 pm Mark Wallace of the Taxavoiders’ Alliance has posted a slightly hysterical response that avoids answering our questions by attacking Derek Draper personally instead. Unfortunately for him, we’ll be pressing for an answer. Good to know they’re rattled though.”
The taxpayers alliance are frequently quoted in the right-wing press and often interviewed on Today when one of their bullshit stories has been published by the Mail or similar.
They’re the cunts who go through the jobs section of the society Guardian and draw up their list of so-called non-jobs.
you’re spot-on about Draper’s nonsense
They’re a tiny group of people half of whom were in Imperial College Conservative Association together. But they have a lot of Westminster Tory money behind them so they get to issue a lot of press releases and look like they represent somebody apart from themselves.
[...] all, they’ve been in power for less than twelve years – no, it’s all because of the TaxPayer’s Alliance (via the excellent Chicken [...]
Hmm, my giant fact-holding brain has an entry on Mr. Wallace. Would it be the same Mark Wallace who appears here?

“Mark Wallace
Mark Wallace, 24, is the Campaign Director of the TaxPayers’ Alliance, the grassroots campaign for lower taxes and better government. As Campaign Director of the TPA, Mark deals with the lobbying and media for Britain’s most-reported political campaign, chalking up over 400 media appearances a month on every topic from MPs’ expenses to Green Taxes. He is a graduate of Durham University, an enthusiastic traveller and former Campaign Manager of the libertarian pressure group The Freedom Association. ”
C-FIT also have about the stupidest name imaginable for an aviation pressure group and Guido likes their leader since she’s young, right-wing and female.
