RE Blears and Harman etc – this final stage of the Blair/Brown regime really does feel exactly like the final throes of the Major government. Headline after headline on sleaze and incompetence coupled with interminable interviews with gummint ministers whose utterances are less appealing than a cup of cold sick. And the horrible thing is that we seem to be on course to hand vast government power (augmented by Blair et al) over to the Tories, who remain as cynical and self-serving as they ever were. Looks like the 21st Century could get a bit tasty after 2010.
