Hazel Blears resigns
And lo, so much did the Communities Secretary love the Labour Party that she resigned from her cabinet post for ‘personal reasons’ the day before elections that look set to smash the party that has sheltered her mediocre talents. Nice to see her getting her priorities straight.
Still, wa-ha-hay!
Memories, like the corners of my mind. Misty water-coloured memories, of the way we were. Scattered pictures, of the smiles we left behind, smiles we gave to one another for the way we were. Can it be that it was all so simple then? Or has time re-written every line? If we had the chance to do it all again, tell me, would we? Could we?

I mean, first Smith, then Blears. It’s fucking Christmas in June.

That’s absolutely the case – she IS utterly mediocre. That interview that was done with her recently (it was George Monbiot, wunnit?) showed how vacuous she is, how unable or unwilling to come to grips with factual reality, indeed how distantly she operates from the basic tenets of reality-based politics. But hmm, yes, she gone, as is the unbearable Patricia Hewitt, destoyer of the NHS. But NomadUK isnt quite on the ball – it can’t be Xmas since Santa is still in his Downing St grotto…
Sorry, I meant the Anti-Santa, of course!
Smith and Blears gone in just two days? Praise be!
Unless it turns out that she’s back in a few days because everybody (i.e. her friends in the Westminster village) say Gordon was being so unfair to her.
John McDonnell for P.M.
